ABOUT MOLECULAR

I was asked by an arts student, doing their foundation year at Sussex Downs College( Eastbourne Campus), to convert their design sketches and art work into 3D. So it becomes easier to get the final impression of what the finished concepts would look like.

This I have achieved, however small design changes have happened and these are listed blow with the reasons for them. I have also been unable to produce some of the content i wanted to, due to limited processing power and system resources on the machine that I was using to do the piece.

Changes to the Concept Designs

The removal of the lift - Due to the fact that the file size was so large that it cause a dramatic slow down of the machine and meant modelling, such a feature and animating it would have been to impractical.
Change to stair design - The elaborate main stair well design, though looking on paper, would have been to impractical to build and un-usable in real life, so was change for a more standard look.
Modification to side and rear of building - This was done to provide a kitchen area, to provide the food and fire exit access from the top and side of the building
Addition of pillars - The pillars were added to give more support to the glass fram and provide enough support fot the metal subfram to support the first floor and the Main roof.
Change of basement area - The basement area was changed slightly to provide more space as the circular design for the toilet area, left a lot of wasted space.
